This Privacy Policy explains how beFreed, Inc. ("BeFreed," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your Personal Data when you use the BeFreed app or website.
We collect only what is needed to personalize your learning experience, and we do not sell your Personal Data.

Generated Output is provided to you under the usage terms described in our Terms of Service, including restrictions on commercial use. All Generated Output is licensed for personal, non-commercial, educational purposes only.
We may use anonymized or aggregated data to improve the platform, but it can no longer identify you.
BeFreed includes community features that allow users to discover and view content generated by other users. By default, Generated Output associated with your account is visible to other users within the BeFreed community unless you set it to "Private."
When your content is set to public, other BeFreed users may view, interact with, and discover your Generated Output through personalized feeds, discovery pages, and recommendations. Your display name and profile information may also be visible alongside your content.
You can control the visibility of your Generated Output at any time by adjusting your privacy settings within the app. Setting content to "Private" will restrict its visibility to you only.
Please be aware that once content has been viewed by other users in the community, BeFreed cannot guarantee that it has not been seen, saved, or referenced by those users prior to your privacy change.
We may share limited data with trusted service providers that help us operate the platform. These providers fall into the following categories:
These vendors may only use data on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions. They cannot use it for their own training or advertising purposes.
We do not sell or share your Personal Data for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not share Personal Data with advertisers.
We use Claude, Anthropic's AI service, to help generate educational material. This service receives only general topic and content information. It does not receive personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or account details. User-specific personalization is processed entirely within BeFreed's own infrastructure.
Your Inputs (topics, learning preferences, interactions) are used to generate personalized Outputs ("Generated Output" as defined in our Terms of Service). If any Personal Data appears inside an Input, it is processed only to fulfill your request and is never redistributed publicly unless anonymized.
Third-party AI models used by BeFreed do not store or retain user data beyond the duration of each request, and are contractually prohibited from using any data we send to train or improve their models.
We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews.
We retain Personal Data for as long as your account is active or as needed to operate the Service. Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your Personal Data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, legal compliance).
Anonymized and aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytics and platform improvement.
BeFreed is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your Personal Data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your Personal Data to jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. We take reasonable steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
BeFreed is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 18. If we learn that a child under 18 has used the Service, we will delete the account and associated data.
